ASIATRIP 2011

hello.

Its been a while for me to actually write on here again and here I am. Again. With full force. The reason? I am returning to asia. After patiently waiting for 3.5 years, its that time again where I must return to the motherland. I cannot wait. The feeling in my stomach is indescribable. Ultimately, the reason for my return is because I miss my grandparents too much. 3.5 years is the longest break I took without seeing them and its been long overdue. My grandma misses me, and I miss her. I am currently in San Francisco (Pit stop to visit my parents) and tomorrow.. I'm off to my first stop.. Tokyo.

/ / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / / /

The best part? My grandparents have no idea. It will be, if all plans go through, the best moment of my life.

You Ain't no Picasso

the air in tokyo hasn't smelled any better than this in a while.. hello, its 15 past 3 and I have officially started the much anticipated internship. Tokyo has been a grand better than I thought it would be like...

when i got here though, they basically weren't bullshitting when they told me that I was going to start right away.. My first day started off with running across the city from Ometesando to Ayase which is basically from distance... (San Francisco to San Jose or Manhattan to Newark Airport).. in the rain.. without an umbrella..

by the time i came back, they told me my schedule.. which i found out that I was working more than I thought i would.. 9am-6pm and occasionally.. throw in a overshift between somedays.. I'm off from Thursday's to Sunday

I ended my first day at 3am.. they needed extra people to help with their benefit party or whatever. Which ended up being fun. but very draining..

my third day here started off right.. with an 5.0 magnitude earthquake tremble.. so cute right? There was a bookshelf full of books that toppled a few feet away from me and Hatsumi... I expected, after the earthquake and aftershocks, sophie (crazy french bitch) would be like "hey is everyone ok???" no. she was like "CON MERDE!!!" (which is her favorite combo which i later found out was cunt shit) and she pointed at me and hatsumi to put all the 3,000+ archive magazines/books back in the book shelf.. that took us probably a good 7 hours?? it sucked.

after assuming that I would be working like this until August, I was pissing my panties.

but thankfully.. sophie told me that I won't be working long shifts after next week.. and I'll be able to sleep and shit. Phew.

To my surprise.. I've actually been having a lot of fun throughout these couple of days.. I've been meeting new crazy japanese fools.. and actually enjoying every minute of my time here..

enough of my internship.

My grandpappy got me a puppy.. which I later named with cousin, Yumiko... because my grandpa thought it was the best name.. I dont know why.

In terms of how I've been feeling lately, I've been pretty happy. ever since Parsons.. i've been pretty content. its almost bittersweet though, I miss my friends in NY a LOT. I've been away from them in probably a month. and it seems like 4EVERRR. meehaa.

PENIS.

I'm leaving for Taipei with Will to do fun things.. on the 28th. and than thailand for a few days and then my fav, phnom penh. considering the fact that I get thursday's and sunday's offf, I am going to take advantage of that and travel around asia.. cause everything is so close to each other..

I'm in okinawa right now, i need to go.

peace, love and dog,
tiffa

ps. i will post pictures soon. check again laterrr

I'm riding the Darjeeling Limited

again, i know that i forget that i have a blog after hell brakes loose, aka parsons, and it really sucks. blah blee doo bah.

so first thing's first... with the big news.. Rei Kawabuko just released that she's doing H&M now.. at first I was extremely iffy with the fact that Rei has this idea of being extremely "exclusive" and private with everything she is associated with and now she's going into everything she's all about to go mainstream. with h&m. Not going to lie.. i'll be first in line to buy the clothes when it's out in November. but all in all.. i'm not that pissed because its definately going to attract a different crowd the your little cluptoppers buying cavalli.

mm hmm yes.

now im back in new york shitty after an amazing trip in the motha'-land and its such a damper to be back and back into homework mode. LAME. but whatever im already used to it.

muskats.

after being back, there was the much anticipated crystal castles concert that i have been looking forward to all of spring brake and never have i ever been to a shitty concert my whole entire life. i've pretty much established that crystal castles are amazing Dj's but when the start singing.. they just SUCK. i went with the girls + trey which means it was me, stace, cat, alex, jason and trey.. we were pretty much.. well i was.. shitting my pants.. after traveling afar to brooklyn land in studio b.. adrenaline started to build up already but once we got in... we basically got sucked into the sweat infested assholes mosh pit and prior to the show actually starting.. their was some serious moshing going on where it resorted to loosing cat and jason and where trey and alex had to clamp onto me and stacey in order for us not to get stepped on (no joke). I also got into a fight, as did trey and alex. it was really bad.

bad bad reviews on my part.

penis.

more to come, homework long awaits.

jotto, jotto jotto.

I've been obsessing on the weirdest thing's lately.. example(s); my nails, the scratches on my macbook, and my new potato chip maker.
my new potato chip maker

its very strange.

thing's in tokyo have been relaxing and fun. it really really sucks that i have to go back to new york.. and once i'm back.. its no fun and games.. its back to work al la' mode. this is how it goes: i feel like thanksgiving is a little teaser for winterbreak because you only get what? four days? and spring break serves as a cliffhanger for summer.. just when your getting used to putting your toes high up in the air while you watch re-runs of cheesy japanese sitcoms.. parsons just hits you like a running school bus. out of no where. BAM!

ok. sorry.

buffalo wings
socks i got for my cousin

waiting for the train. never late
hatsumi's work

its not even summer yet
so... Will, Riko, Hatsumi and I have just basically been bouncing around the delirious tokyo streets and its been crazzzzy. i had my third bullet train experience yesterday when we made a little trip to yokohama (outskirts of tokyo) and we left late afternoon for my partttttyyyyy. I haven't thrown a party in a while, in fact, last time i thought i threw a party was probably summer in italy when my mom left.. as usual, tiffany drank one too much and turned into a glowing asian tomato. tiz' was lovely.
my lunch in yokohama
picture perfect sushi meal eh eh?
I've also taken into a realization that I only write on my blog when i travel and its been kept into a consistancy that i write most when i do travel and when i'm in new york, its usually either
a) dark and gloomy
b) two sentences
c) how much i dread parsons hw
or
d) a picture of a beautiful man that i will never have.

just an observation.

toe's with camels.

so. RIKO GOT A KITTY YESTERDAY and its probably the cutest thing ever.. just as cute as my adopted cat 2 years ago (if you don't remember, i bought a cat for my grandpapa.. its basically the housekeeper's cat now) Riko's kitty is named sutoroberi or, ichigo, which means strawberry in nihonponese. so cute. so cute. cute so.
strawberry
sutoroberri

before the happenings of my party, which was a good turnout (20-30ish ppl) hatsumi and i went to this weird rave/fashion party that was on Cho-Ku (just a walk from my place) and it was crazy.. i didn't realize how big drugs was (as in my generation) here. blah.

boogers.

another thing. two days ago, my grampappy brought me to the temple and it was so nicceeeee. i love spending time with him. le sigh*
temple.

oh yes. so here are the things to look forward to when i get back to ny (this makes me feel better when i think about these things)
1. my friends. (the best)
2. CRYSTAL CASTLE CONCERT

3. the UCC computer lab filled with hot beautiful boys (no joke)

so as promised, here are pictures. most of these pictures are all taken at random times and random moments.

this is where i grew up.

this was really awkward. the man is just sitting there with two fake dolls looking into the pond. there was no water or fish inside the tank. awwwkkwward.
